Xavier Cedeno (LHP), Nationals - Cedeno is back in the big leagues having been recalled by the Nationals on June 6th when Stephen Strasburg went on the DL. Cedeno hasn't appeared in a game for the Nats since his call-up, but had a 2.63 ERA in 14 appearances with the Syracuse Chiefs and held hitters to a .192 average.

Rick Ankiel (CF), Mets - Yesterday Ankiel was designated for assignment for the second time this year to make room for Kirk Nieuwenhuis on the Mets roster. After hitting .194 (12/62) in 25 games for Houston, he hit just .182 (12/66) in 20 games for the Mets. He hit just 2 home runs after leaving the Astros and continues to be plagued by strikeouts fanning 25 more times in New York.

Chris Wallace (C), Indians - Wallace hasn't recorded a hit for the Columbus Clippers since May 26th going 0 for 9 during that stretch and losing out on playing time to 32 year old Omir Santos. In 16 games with the Clippers, Wallace is hitting .262 (11/42) with 4 doubles and 8 runs batted in. While he homered 20 times in 2011, he hasn't showed that power potential lately homering just 5 times in 236 at-bats last year and just once in 75 at-bats this year between AA and AAA.

Jake Goebbert (RF), Athletics - Goebbert homered twice this week against the Hooks and drove in 7 runs against his former team in the process including a 5 rbi game on June 6th. On the year he's driven in 40 runs and homered 11 times, just one shy of his career high set in 2011. The 25 year old left-handed hitting outfielder is hitting .301 against righties with 10 of his 11 homers coming against them.

Tyler Greene (SS), White Sox - Greene is back in AAA, getting sent down this week by the White Sox when Gordon Beckham was activated from the 15-day DL. Greene hit .222 (12/54) in 22 games with Chicago homering only once, and striking out 19 times. In his first game back in AAA, Greene went 2 for 4 with a pair of rbis and a stolen base.

Nate Freiman (1B), Athletics - Freiman continues to hammer left-handed pitching this year, batting .339 against lefties compared to just .053 versus righties. Freiman still only has two home runs but, as luck would have it, both came against the Astros. After hitting just .148 in April, Freiman hit .351 in May and has followed that up by hitting .294 so far in June.

Mike Kvasnicka (RF), Twins - The word on the street is that Kvasnicka could return from a broken hamate bone next week. The former first round pick has yet to appear in a game for the Twins organization this season since being traded in late March for pitcher Gonzalo Sanudo.
