AAA - Albuquerque 4 Oklahoma City 2
Brandon Laird hit a 2-run homer in the first inning, but that was all the offense the RedHawks (31-24) could muster in a 4-2 defeat. Jonathan Villar had a pair of singles and a steal, and Brett Wallace and Fernando Martinez each had doubles, but Oklahoma City was just 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position in the game. Ross Seaton started and took the loss allowing all 4 Isotopes runs in 5 2/3 innings. Jason Stoffel continued his ridiculous run with 1 1/3 perfect innings in relief. His AAA ERA is now 1.53 and opposing hitters are batting just .119 against him in 13 appearances since his promotion.
AA - Corpus Christi 5 Arkansas 3 (8 innings, Game 1)
Jose Martinez returned from the DL and went 3 for 4 and Domingo Santana tripled, homered and scored three times as the Hooks (34-21) won game one of their doubleheader 5-3. Martinez hit a one out double in the 8th, Santana scored him with a triple and then crossed the plate himself on a sacrifice fly off the bat of George Springer. Mike Foltynewicz started the game on the mound and allowed just 1 run in 4 1/3 innings while fanning 5. Pat Urckfitz earned the win in relief with 2 scoreless innings to improve to 3-2 on the year.
Corpus Christi 13 Arkansas 9 (Game 2)
David Martinez was spotted a 10-0 lead after half an inning, but failed to improve to 9-0 on the year as he failed to get through 3 innings. Jose Martinez went 4 for 5, George Springer homered and drove in 5 runs and Domingo Santana hit his second home run of the day as the Hooks swept the doubleheader and improved to 35-21 on the year. Martinez, Springer and Ben Orloff all scored 3 times for the Hooks and Matt Heidenreich (3-3, 6.75) earned the win with 4 innings of solid relief.
Advanced A - Lancaster 16 Visalia 1
Chris Epps and MP Cokinos combined to go 6 for 9 with 3 doubles, 2 homers and 11 runs batted in as the JetHawks (35-21) crushed the Rawhide 16-1. Joe Sclafani went 2 for 2 with 3 walks, Brandon Meredith homered and Preston Tucker extended his hitting streak to 17 games while all 3 players scored 3 runs in the game. David Rollins improved to 5-3 on the year with 5 shutout innings and Tyson Perez earned the save by allowing just 1 run in his 4 innings of relief. Delino DeShields stole two bases to give him 14 on the year.
Low A - Quad Cities 3 Beloit 2
Lance McCullers Jr threw 5 shutout innings and earned his second win of the season while lowering his ERA on the year to 1.70 as the River Bandits hung on for a 3-2 win over the Snappers. Teoscar Hernandez and Jordan Scott each had 2 hits to lead the offense while Jonathan Singleton again showed his human side going 0 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout. Cameron Lamb got the final 2 outs for his 3rd save of the season.

Down on the Farm - 5/29/13
AA - Corpus Christi 5 Northwest Arkansas 4
Max Stassi had 2 doubles and 2 rbis and Erik Castro added 3 hits of his own as the Hooks (32-20) edged out the Naturals 5-4. Ruben Alaniz earned the win out of the pen with 3 solid innings of work to improve to 2-5 on the year while former Astro Sergio Escalona continues to work his way back after missing all of 2012 with 2 innings of work in which he allowed 1 run and fanned two to earn his first save. The Hooks had 12 hits in the game including 7 doubles.
Advanced A - Lancaster 9 Rancho Cucamonga 4
Preston Tucker homered again and Telvin Nash homered twice as the JetHawks (32-20) erased an early deficit and defeated the Quakes 9-4. Tucker and Nash each drove in 3 runs in the game and 6 different JetHawks players had multi-hit games led by Matt Duffy's 3 hits and 2 rbis. David Rollins worked 4 hitless innings in relief to earn his 4th win of the season.
Low A - Quad Cities 2 Kane County 1
Jonathan Singleton homered for the second time in as many games and also ripped a double as the River Bandits (29-23) won a close one over the Cougars 2-1. Teoscar Hernandez added a solo home run while Rio Ruiz (2/4) and Austin Elkins (2/3) each had multi-hit games for the River Bandits. Mike Hauschild worked 5 shutout innings of 1-hit ball, but it was Colton Cain who had 3 shutout innings of his own earning the win. John Neely worked the 9th for his 8th save.

AAA - Salt Lake 6 Oklahoma City 4
The RedHawks (22-13) suffered a rare loss when their 9th inning rally came up short against the Bees. Trailing 6-1 entering the final frame, Che-Hsuan Lin clubbed a 3-run homer, his first of the year, and the RedHawks loaded the bases with two outs before Mitch Stetter got Brandon Laird to fly out to right to end the game. Lin drove in all 4 of the RedHawks runs and Austin Wates had 3 hits to pace OKC's 11-hit attack. Ross Seaton fell to 0-3 on the year while Eric Berger tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief.
AA - Corpus Christi 9 Frisco 3
David Martinez improved to 5-0 on the season as the Hooks (21-14) defeated the RoughRiders 9-3. Martinez tied a season-high by allowing 2 runs raising his ERA to a measly 1.25. Mike Foltynewicz followed Martinez with 4 solid innings allowing just an unearned run to earn the save. Folty has yet to allow an earned run in 9 innings of work since his promotion to AA. George Springer hit home run number 12 and Enrique Hernandez added a 2-run shot to pace the offense. Jonathan Meyer and Erik Castro each added a pair of rbis.
Advanced A - Lancaster 10 Stockton 6
The JetHawks (21-15) rallied back from a 6-0 deficit and used a 7-run 8th inning to propel them to a 10-6 win over the Ports. The JetHawks scored a pair of runs on wild pitches, then tied the game on a bases loaded walk to Tyler Heineman. Matt Duffy followed that with the big blow, a grand slam, to put the JetHawks up for good. David Rollins (3-3, 3.99) tossed 4 shutout innings in relief allowing just 1 hit and fanning 4 to earn the win.
Low A - Peoria 6 Quad Cities 3 (Game 1)
Carlos Correa reached base 3 times, but it wasn't enough as the River Bandits (19-14) lost Game 1 of their doubleheader with Chiefs 6-3. Rio Ruiz was 2 for 2 with a walk and Jobduan Morales added a pair of hits as well to pace the offense. Michael Dimock pitched well in relief allowing just one run on one hit in 3 innings of work. Daniel Minor (2-1, 4.80) started and took the loss.
Quad Cities 3 Peoria 2 (Game 2)
Terrell Joyce delivered a 2-out walkoff single to score Jordan Scott and Quad Cities (20-14) was able to salvage a split of their doubleheader with the Chiefs. The Bandits came one out away from winning in the top half of the 7th, but Mitchell Lambson surrendered a 2-out solo home run to Jacob Wilson. Lance McCullers remains winless on the year despite allowing just 1 run in 5 solid innings of work. McCullers' ERA on the year is 1.71. Ariel Ovando had a pair of rbis while Joyce and Austin Elkins combined for 4 of Quad Cities' 6 hits. Carlos Correa started at DH and was 1 for 3 with a walk to raise his average on the year up to .224.

Asher Wojciechowski was scored on for the first time this year raising his ERA to a whopping 0.78, but the Hooks (11-8) rallied late to defeat Midland 6-3. Jiovanni Mier delievered a 2-run single with 1 out in the top of the 7th to give Corprus Christi a 3-2 lead, and Carlos Perez slugged a 2-run homer in the 8th for insurance in the victory. David Martinez earned the win in relief allowing a run in 3 1/3 innings of work and Jason Stoffel workedo out of a jam in the 9th to earn his 4th save. Rene Garcia added 3 hits for the Hooks to raise his average on the season to .351

Nolan Fontana (2/3), Matt Duffy (3/5), Telvin Nash (2/3) and Chris Epps (2/5) all had multi-hit games for the JetHawks (13-6) as the jumped out to a big lead early and cruised to a comfortable win over Lake Elsinore. Tyson Perez earned his first win of the year despite allowing 4 runs in 5 innings of work, and David Rollins slammed the door with 4 innings of 1-hit shutout ball to earn his second save of the year. Fontana and Epps each drove in a pair of runs in the win.

AAA - Oklahoma City 11 Memphis 0
Brandon Laird had 3 hits, Marc Krauss drove in 3 runs, and Jake Elmore extended his hitting streak to 10 games as the RedHawks (6-5) blew out the Redbirds 11-0. Wes Musick made his first start of the year and tossed 5 scoreless innings while Jarred Cosart and Kyle Hallock completed the shutout. Cosart, who worked 3 2/3 scoreless innings, has now allowed just one earned run in his first 12 2/3 innings this season. He's allowed just 7 hits and fanned 15.
AA - Tulsa 3 Corpus Christi 2
Asher Wojciechowski extended his scoreless innings streak to 14 with 5 more solid innings, but the Hooks (7-4) bullpen surrendered solo home runs in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings and lost on a walkoff blast by a score of 3-2. Austin Wates was 2 for 3 with a walk and two more stolen bases giving him an organization high of 7 this season. George Springer added his 10th run batted in of the year and Carlos Perez had his third straight 2-hit game in a losing effort.

The JetHawks (8-3) banged out 12 hits and drew 10 walks as the cruised to a blowout win over the High Desert Mavericks. Andrew Aplin tripled, homered and drove in 5, and Drew Muren and Preston Tucker added home runs to lead the route. Starter Tyson Perez was knocked out of the game in the 4th inning after allowing 5 runs in 3 2/3 innings, but Theron Geith tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win, and David Rollins slammed the door with 4 scoreless innings in which he struck out 6 to earn his first save.

Farm Report - 4/11/13
David Martinez and Asher Wojciechowski combined on a 3-hit shutout as the Hooks (6-1) defeated the Springfield Cardinals 5-0. Through 7 games the Hooks have allowed just 11 runs and have a team ERA of 1.57. Wojciechowski has been particularly impressive allowing just 2 hits in 9 scoreless innings of work. Austin Wates was 3 for 4 and a double away from the cycle to lead the offensive attack. Domingo Santana added his second home run of the season.
Advanced A - Lancaster 5 Modesto 1
Lancaster (6-1) continued its fast start to the 2013 season with a 5-1 win over Modesto behind the strong pitching of David Rollins and Tyson Perez. Rollins pitched around three errors and allowed just one unearned run to earn the win while Perez retired all 12 hitters he faced in 4 perfect innings of work to earn the save. Preston Tucker, Drew Muren and MP Cokinos all had two hits to lead the offense.
