AAA - Oklahoma City 6 Tacoma 1
Jarred Cosart was absolutely dominant fanning 10 in 5 2/3 innings as the RedHawks (19-12) defeated the Rainiers 6-1. Brett Wallace went 2 for 4 with a homer and 3 rbis to extend his hitting streak to 8 games, and Marc Krauss crushed his team-high 7th home run to lead the offense. Jake Elmore added 3 hits, needing just a home run to hit for the cycle and Che-Hsuan Lin was 2 for 3 with a stolen base. Rhiner Cruz made his second appearance for the RedHawks throwing a perfect 8th inning and striking out one.
AA - San Antonio 10 Corpus Christi 5
Matt Heidenreich couldn't hold a 4-0 lead as he surrendered 6 runs in just 1 1/3 innings and the Hooks (19-13) got beaten up by the Missions 10-5. Enrique Hernandez and Jonathan Meyer each drove in a pair of runs, and George Springer was 1 for 3 with a pair of stolen bases in a losing effort.
Advanced A - Lake Elsinore 8 Lancaster 5
The JetHawks (18-13) came up on the short end of the stick in a back-and-forth affair as they were defeated by the Storm 8-5. Andrew Aplin homered, and Tyler Heineman was 2 for 5 with a double, but it wasn't enough as a pair of Carlos Perdomo errors and a passed ball led to 5 unearned runs. David Rollins started and fanned 6 in 5 innings but didn't factor in the decision.

Down on the Farm - 5/3/13
AA - Corpus Christi 10 Midland 4
George Springer homered and drove in 3 runs to lead a 13-hit attack as the Hooks (17-11) defeated the RockHounds 10-4. Michael Burgess added 3 hits including a pair of doubles, Ben Orloff knocked in a pair of runs, and 5 different Hooks players had multi-hit games. On the mound, Matt Heidenreich, who had been struggling, turned in his best outing of the year throwing 5 shutout innings in relief to earn his 2nd win of the season and lower his ERA to 6.35. Pat Urckfitz added a scoreless inning on the mound.
Advanced A - High Desert 9 Lancaster 7
Nolan Fontana had four hits including his third home run of the year, but his error led to 6 unearned runs and the JetHawks (16-11) fell to the Mavericks 9-7. Andrew Aplin and Telvin Nash each added a pair of hits, but Delino DeShields Jr. was 0 for 4 and saw his average dip to .228 on the year and Matt Duffy went hitless and is now 0 for 17 following a 15 game hitting streak. Jonas Dufek pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief while David Rollins (2-3, 4.91) suffered the loss on the mound.
Low A - Quad Cities 3 South Bend 2
The River Bandits (16-10) scored single runs in the 7th, 8th and 9th to defeat the Silver Hawks (18-7) in a close one, 3-2. Brian Holmes followed up his 10-strikeout performance, with 3 scoreless innings in relief, and Jon Neely pitched a perfect 9th for his fourth save. Offensively, Teoscar Hernandez hit his first home run of the year in the 8th to tie the game, and Miles Hamblin drove in Jesse Wierzbicki on an rbi single in the top of the 9th to put Quad Cities up for good.

Down on the Farm - 4/29/13
AAA - Oklahoma City 9 Nashville 8
The RedHawks (14-10) overcame an early 7-1 deficit and rallied for a 9-8 win behind a huge night from Trevor Crowe. Crowe went 3 for 3 with 4 runs scored, a homer, two walks and 3 stolen bases while Jake Elmore tripled, homered and knocked in 3 more to rally the RedHawks. Jonathan Villar also had a big game with 3 more hits and a pair of steals raising his average all the way up to .290 after a 2 for 34 start to the season. Starting pitcher Ross Seaton was shelled lasting just 1 2/3 innings and yielding 7 runs, but was bailed out by the offense and the bullpen. Kyle Hallock earned his first win in AAA with 4 1/3 scoreless innings, and Jose Valdez got the final six outs for his 7th save.
AA - Frisco 4 Corpus Christi 2
George Springer hit his 8th home run of the season, but that was all the offense the Hooks (13-11) could muster as they fell 4-2 to the RoughRiders. Matt Heidenreich pitched 4 solid innings allowing just one unearned run and lowering his ERA on the year to 8.15, but Ruben Alaniz took the loss in relief to fall to 0-3 despite allowing just two runs (one earned) in 3 innings of work. Domingo Santana and Michael Burgess each had two hits in the loss.

Brian Holmes was simply dominant yesterday striking out a season high 10 in 5 innings while allowing just 1 unearned run to lead the River Bandits (14-8) to a 6-1 win over the Loons. Terrell Joyce had 2 runs batted in, and Teoscar Hernandez and Joe Sclafani each had two hits to lead the offense and Jordan Jankowski tossed 4 shutout innings to earn his first save of the year.

Farm Report - 4/12/13
AAA - Memphis 10 Oklahoma City 6
The RedHawks (5-3) banged out 16 hits, but stranded 11 men on base as a late rally fell short against the Redbirds, and they fell by a score of 10-6. Jake Elmore led the offensive attack with 4 hits including a pair of doubles as he raised his average to .500 (16/32) through 8 games. Brett Oberholtzer was saddled with the loss as he was knocked out of the game after just 3 innings. Josh Zeid was the only Astros pitcher who didn't get scored on, as he tossed a scoreless 9th with 2 strikeouts. In three shutout innings this season, Zeid has yet to allow a hit, and has fanned 7.
AA - Springfield 6 Corpus Christi 3
Springfield jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning, and the Hooks (6-2) never recovered dropping just their 2nd game of the year by a score of 6-3. George Springer was 2 for 4 with a pair of rbis and Ben Orloff added two hits, but the Hooks never got closer than 4-3. Matthew Heidenreich (1-1) allowed 4 runs in 2 innings of work and was saddled with the loss.
Advanced A - Modesto 4 Lancaster 1
The high-powered JetHawks (6-2) offense was limited to just 4 hits and a sacrifice fly as they dropped a low scoring affair to the Nuts 4-1. Luis Cruz, a 9th round pick back in 2008, was absolutely dominant for Lancaster in his first start of the season fanning 9 in just 4 2/3 innings. Cruz now has 15 strikeouts in just 8 2/3 innings this year. Aaron West (0-1) took the loss in relief.
Low A - Peoria 4 Quad Cities 1 (10 innings)
The Chiefs pushed across 3 runs in the top of the 10th with an assist from a Rio Ruiz error as the River Bandits (6-2) fell in extras by a score of 4-1. Quad Cities brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the tenth, but cleanup hitter Jesse Wierzbicki struck out looking and Terrell Joyce grounded out to first to end the game. Teoscar Hernandez led the offense with 3 hits and 2 steals raising his average to .394, and Mike Hauschild pitched 5 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 3 hits.
