The Sounds held Oklahoma City (3-2) to just 4 hits as the RedHawks fell 1-0 on the road. Jake Elmore followed up his 5-hit performance against Memphis with 2 more hits raising his average to .450 on the season. He also stole a base. Rudy Owens was the hard-luck loser, as he allowed just an unearned run in 5 innings of work. Jose Cisnero added 3 scoreless innings in relief in a losing effort.
AA - Corpus Christi 4 Tulsa 3
George Springer drew a two-out bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game, and Michael Burgess followed that up with a walkoff single to send the Hooks (4-1) fans home happy. Burgess finished the night 3 for 5 accounting for half of the Hooks' six hits while Springer had a pair of hits and drove in two. Pat Urckfitz earned the win in relief after tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings.
Low A - Quad Cities 12 Burlington 3
Quad Cites (5-0) scored 11 times in the first three innings as they cruised to a 5th straight win to start the season. Teoscar Hernandez led the offensive attack with 4 hits, Chase Davidson had 3 hits and 3 rbis and Jesse Wierzbicki drove in 5 runs as the River Bandits continue to get contributions from up and down the lineup. Joe Bircher (1-0) started and went 5 strong innings in earning the win and Vincent Velasquez retired all 12 hitters he faced, 6 of them by strikeout to earn his first save.
